SNOW AND ICE DELAY FISHING
AT B-G’S UPPER RESERVOIR
March 26, 2004
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
NORTH BLENHEIM – Fishing season opens in New York State on Thursday, April 1 – but it’s going to be delayed at the upper reservoir of the New York Power Authority’s Blenheim-Gilboa Pumped Storage Power Project here.
Ice and snow pack on the surface of the reservoir blocks the boat launch area and prevents the installation of markers showing permissible areas for fishing. Fishing will be permitted as soon as weather conditions permit.
Shoreline fishing is permitted from Mine Kill State Park on the lower reservoir, but restrictions on boating are still in effect.
The Blenheim-Gilboa Project is located on Route 30, about 17 miles south of Middleburgh and seven miles north of Grand Gorge.
